Custom-Made Bedding Prices in Hong Kong: What Determines the Cost of Bespoke Bed Linen?
Share
What determines the price of custom-made bedding in Hong Kong?
Bespoke bed linen is not priced like a ready-made Single, Double or Queen set. The quotation depends on what you are making, the actual measurements, the material selected, the estimated fabric required and the construction. That is why two fitted sheets can have different prices even when both are described as “Double”.

The five main variablesWhy is there no single price for bespoke bedding?
A custom-made order is built from your measurements rather than a fixed retail-size package. These five factors have the greatest influence on the quotation.
Material
100s TENCEL™, 120s Lyocell Cotton, 100s Cotton Sateen and 140s Cotton Sateen use different fabrics and current material rates.
Dimensions
Length and width determine the basic cutting area. A wider or longer custom item can require more fabric.
Mattress depth
For fitted sheets, a deeper mattress generally requires more fabric around the sides and under the mattress.
Item type
Fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases have different shapes, panels and construction requirements.
Quantity
Each additional fitted sheet, duvet cover or pillowcase adds its own material requirement to the order.
Why estimated fabric usage matters more than the bed-size name
Ready-made bedding is usually sold under size labels such as Single, Double, Queen or King. Bespoke bedding works differently because the cutting plan starts from the actual centimetre measurements.
Fabric is supplied in a fixed roll width. Depending on the dimensions and how the pieces can be arranged for cutting, a relatively small increase in width, length or mattress depth can sometimes change the amount of fabric needed by more than the dimensional increase alone. This is why the quotation should be calculated from the real measurements rather than guessed from the bed-size label.
Two “Double” mattresses do not necessarily produce the same fitted-sheet quotation
One mattress might be relatively shallow. Another may include a thick mattress, permanent protector or topper. Even if the sleeping surface has a similar width and length, the deeper sleep stack can require a different fitted-sheet construction and more fabric.
How the four custom-made bedding materials affect the quotation
The material price is only one part of the final quotation, but it is an important starting point. Rather than choosing by price alone, compare the hand feel first and then let the quotation calculate the order using your measurements.
100s 100% TENCEL™ Lyocell
The smoothest and most fluid direction in the current traditional custom range. A strong starting point for customers who prioritise softness and flowing drape.
120s Fine-Denier Lyocell Cotton
60% Lyocell and 40% long-staple cotton. It keeps a smooth Lyocell-led direction while adding more body and structure.

100s Long-Staple Cotton Sateen
A smooth premium-cotton route with a more substantial, grounded hand and classic sateen surface.

140s Cotton Sateen
A finer, lighter and more delicate pure-cotton direction for customers who prioritise refinement over a more substantial cotton hand.

Fitted sheet, duvet cover or pillowcase: why the item changes the cost
| Custom item | Main measurements | What influences fabric usage | Useful guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fitted sheet | Mattress width, length and total depth | Sleeping-surface size, side depth and the construction needed to wrap and secure the mattress | Thick mattress measuring guide |
| Duvet cover | Actual duvet-insert width and length | The finished cover has front and back fabric surfaces, so larger inserts require more material | Duvet measuring guide |
| Pillowcase | Pillow length and width; thickness/shape note when relevant | Size, quantity and unusual shapes such as contour or long pillows | Pillow measuring guide |
Does a deeper mattress make a custom fitted sheet more expensive?
It can. A deeper mattress requires the fitted sheet to cover a greater vertical distance before wrapping under the mattress. A topper or permanent protector can also increase the total sleep-stack depth that needs to be covered.
The important point is to measure the configuration you actually sleep on. Do not choose a smaller depth simply to reduce the quotation: an under-sized fitted sheet can pull at the corners or fail to stay securely in place.
Traditional custom fitted sheet vs detachable zipper fitted sheet: compare the system, not just the price
Simple ol’ Me also offers a detachable zipper fitted-sheet system. It uses a fixed fitted base plus a removable sleeping panel, so its construction and product configuration are different from a traditional one-piece fitted sheet.
That means a traditional custom fitted-sheet quotation and a detachable zipper set should not be compared as if they were identical products. The zipper system is intended to make the sleeping surface easier to remove on beds where lifting and changing a conventional fitted sheet is inconvenient, such as thick mattresses, platform beds and wall-side frames.

Why this guide does not publish a fixed “price list”
Material rates and product configurations can change. More importantly, traditional custom-made bedding is calculated from the measurements and estimated fabric usage of the actual order. Publishing one generic “Double bed price” would therefore be less accurate than using the live quotation on the relevant product page.
Why two custom orders can produce different totals
Two fitted sheets use the same fabric and sleeping-surface size, but the deeper mattress can require more fabric.
The estimated metres may be similar, but the material rate can differ between TENCEL™, Lyocell Cotton and cotton sateen.
Adding a duvet cover and pillowcases increases the fabric requirement because each item is separately cut and sewn.
Extra-large, unusually shaped or technically unusual requirements may need manual review rather than a simple standard quotation.
How to price your custom-made bedding order
Measure the actual item
Use the mattress, duvet insert or pillow itself rather than copying dimensions from an old cover.
Choose the material
Select the hand feel you prefer from the current TENCEL™, Lyocell Cotton or cotton-sateen options.
Build the order
Enter each fitted sheet, duvet cover and pillowcase with its dimensions, quantity and colour choice.
Review the live quotation
Check estimated fabric usage, current pricing and the complete custom-order summary before adding it to cart.
Use your real measurements to get the meaningful price
A bespoke bedding quotation is most useful when it reflects the mattress, duvet or pillow you actually own. Choose the material, enter the measurements and compare the live custom options before checkout.

How much does custom-made bedding cost in Hong Kong?
There is no single price for every custom order. The quotation depends on the selected material, actual dimensions, item type, quantity, estimated fabric usage and, where relevant, the construction. Use the live product quotation for the current order price.
Why does mattress depth affect a custom fitted-sheet quotation?
A deeper mattress requires more side coverage before the sheet wraps under the mattress, which can increase the fabric requirement.
Is bespoke bedding priced by bed-size name?
Traditional custom bedding is based on actual measurements rather than only labels such as Single, Double, Queen or King. The real dimensions are therefore more important than the size name.
Does the fabric I choose change the price?
Yes. The current material rate differs by fabric. Simple ol’ Me’s traditional range includes 100s TENCEL™ Lyocell, 120s Fine-Denier Lyocell Cotton, 100s Long-Staple Cotton Sateen and 140s Cotton Sateen.
Is 140s Cotton Sateen automatically the best value because the yarn count is higher?
No. Yarn count is not a complete quality or value score. Fibre composition, yarn construction, weave, weight and finishing all affect the finished fabric. Choose by the feel and properties you prefer.
Can I order only one custom fitted sheet?
Yes. Traditional custom items can be ordered individually; you do not need to purchase a complete bedding set.
Can I add a duvet cover and pillowcases to the same custom order?
Yes. Fitted sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases can be configured as individual custom items, with their own measurements, quantities and colour selections.
Why is the detachable zipper fitted sheet priced differently from a traditional fitted sheet?
The zipper design is a different construction using a fixed fitted base and removable sleeping panel. Compare its function and set configuration with a traditional fitted sheet rather than treating the two as identical products.
Should I reduce my measurements to lower the custom bedding price?
No. Submit the actual dimensions. Incorrect measurements can result in poor fit and defeat the purpose of made-to-measure bedding.
Where can I see the current custom-made bedding price?
Open the relevant material product page and use the live quotation with your actual measurements. This is more reliable than an evergreen article with fixed price examples.
