A custom fitted sheet can only be made accurately when the mattress is measured correctly. Record the actual length, width and finished depth, then note any topper, protector, rounded corner, unusual shape or restricted bed-frame clearance.

Measure more than one position
Foam, padded and older mattresses may not be perfectly uniform. Measure several points, repeat every dimension, and report the largest accurate result.
Important Depth Distinction
Mattress depth and fitted-sheet pocket depth are not the same
Mattress depth is the physical thickness of the mattress and every permanent layer enclosed by the sheet. Pocket depth is a construction measurement determined by the maker and may extend farther underneath the mattress.
